The Drama competition of the TAW project

The drama competition of the TAV project is in full swing. The competition got off to a great start in Ukraine a few weeks ago thanks to the project partner, the All-Ukrainian League of Authors. A well-thought-out organization gives results – about 30 plays have already been received, and much more is expected before the final whistle on 29.02. The plays were written by young Ukrainian authors. The jury will choose the best ones and rehearsals will begin – in Finland, in Germany, in Ukraine – here in Europe! Communicating with my colleagues, I feel a surge of creative energy coming from them, a deep understanding of the topic we have taken up – Theater and War – a personal, human attitude to the events taking place. It’s hot, it’s passionate. Can the Theater really resist the war? Of course! We believe in it. The competition is underway, but it is clear to me that two of the received plays will soon be in the VIKART repertoire, and there should be six of them in total during the project. Thanks to Marina Kotelenets, the head of the League of Authors and the organizer of the competition, – she is known and loved in Ukraine, – we in Finland and Germany also fell in love! The project operates in beautiful Ukraine, despite the air raid sirens calling for a bomb shelter.
